Yoga for Wellbeing

Fall 2021 Virtual Classes

Wellness Wednesday Yoga

September 29 - December 15

Wednesday’s, 6:00 - 7:00* PM (EST)

$120

*Includes 2 optional, bonus Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) classes on 11/24 and 12/22. The series price reflects one missed class.

This is a gentle, all levels, inward-focused class. Through guided asana (postures), breathing exercises (pranayama), and themes drawing from yogic philosophy and well-being practices, the intention of this series is to support you to find grounding and connection to build resiliency in uncertain times.

Committing to a yoga class series can be a foundational action that provides a weekly check-point to focus on your well-being, and will foster physical, emotional, and spiritual health. You will be invited and encouraged to form your own practice within the community of the class. A range of options are provided and every body type, age, gender identity, and experience level is welcome.

As the teacher, I guide you through this gentle practice with verbal cues, only demonstrating poses on occasion, so that you do not need to stare at a screen. No need to be concerned about ‘zoom’ fatigue or worry about ‘keeping up’ or doing it “right”. This practice is nourishing, relaxing, and deep self-care that cultivates flexibility, strength, and well-being.

Class size is limited.

March, 2020 and the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. A fuzzy screenshot, but I’m proud of this moment teaching my first online class! I pivoted from teaching in a yoga studio to online Zoom classes from my den. I was nervous, but now enjoy the connection of virtual yoga. I’m deeply grateful to the students that have participated.

Yoga is not about touching your toes, it’s about what you learn on the way down.

A note from Cydney:

I teach classes that embrace a slow yoga philosophy. I believe that there is freedom in each pose - and that alignment helps to create a structure, an opportunity, to find this freedom. In a busy world, there is a tendency to strive, to throw ourselves forward, to push to where we think we should be, to always do more. My classes and private sessions instead invite you to be, to welcome the fullness of who you are in the moment.

All bodies and all humans can practice yoga. Yoga is a path of being present to our own experience. My intention is to offer a supportive, healing, and safe space for all. Please show up as you are. I welcome you.

I embrace yoga as a practice of self-discovery and transformation. My intention as a teacher is to hold space for the student to come into alignment with their own path of wellness and self-discovery. Through stillness, I hope we all find kindness, cultivate openness and peace.

My Training and Practice:

Yoga has weaved through my life since watching Lilias with her long braid on PBS as a young child in the 70’s. I began studying and practicing yoga 30 years ago when I was 20 after a major back injury left me in a brace for 3 months. Over the years my physical yoga practice has waxed and waned, but yogic wisdom has continued to inform my life path both personally and professionally. I am a certified yoga teacher (200 hr YTT), with additional training in Yoga Nidra, Iyenger-style, restorative and trauma-informed yoga. I have been teaching yoga for many years.
